Biography
Dr. Cassy has completed her PhD at the age of 28 years from University Teknologi Malaysia and has more than 7 years of experience in analytical field. She is currently the Analytical Lab Manager of Synthomer, an aqueous polymer organization with existing products in Industries of coating, construction, textiles, paper and synthetic latex gloves. She has published paper in Microporous Mesoporous Materials Journal, Environmental Technology and Innovation Journal, a Co-author for the Book Chapter –Membrane-Based Solid Phase Extraction (UTM), had 1 patent for Method of Extracting Chemicals (Nitrosamines) in Water, (PI 2014-003377), presented in APCE 2016-Malaysia (Determination of Trace Impurities in Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients using Synapt-G2-LCMS QTOF and has been serving as a Hon. Treasurer of Chemical Institute of Malaysia (Southern branch).
Research Interest
Currently Dr. Cassy Chong is managing analytical laboratory which involve Polymer synthesis and its characterization by GPC/SEC, FTIR, DSC, GCMS/FID, Particle Size by Zetasizer, CHDF, Surface tension, ash content and DMA. It also includes GCMS method development for purity checking, volatile organic compound (VOC) identification/quantification and impurity profiling. In addition, she has interest in studying of De-formulation/Reverse engineering of paint, sealant and compounded polymer.
